Weekend Away- New Hampshire

Matthew and I were able to get away from the city for a weekend and visit Tim and Leah in New Hampshire! We had such a good time. They just moved into a new home about two months ago. Their home is amazing! They have a huge yard, and they even have beavers and a beaver dam in the back. The kids were pretty excited to show us. Even though the beavers were not out, I was able to see how beautiful their property is. They have a little river or stream right next to the home which made for great exploring for Micah and Hannah. Did I mention they are absolutely adorable! I can’t believe how much Micah has grown and Hannah is a doll!

We arrived on Friday night, had some dinner and just caught up. It was so nice to catch up on life. It had been a while. The Costines were so sweet to have us over, even with them all recovering from being sick. They were great hosts, Matthew and I are so thankful! We had great food, thanks to Leah, and great fellowship with brothers and sisters in the Lord. The two kids are just a kick. We played many games such as: forts, fishing, and monopoly to name a few. They are so funny! Micah is such a playful little guy, and Hannah is a little snuggler. The Costines took us to Portsmouth, NH on Saturday for some amazing flat bread pizza, or piz-za, as Micah called it. Image

Although it was freezing the pizza was amazing. I hope to go back there again before we leave. New Hampshire, for those who have not been, is adorable and has tons of history. Not only famous historical sites, such as a church George Washington attended, but also the trending grounds of young Tim. He showed us around old farms he worked at as a boy, the homes he has lived in, and old friends homes. It was a cool opportunity to see New Hampshire through the eyes of someone who grew up there. As we drove down the old roads looking at amazing homes we heard great stories and laughed as the kids played their game of calling out everything they saw in their own code names (which was hilarious).

Church was fabulous!! So good to worship with other believers in the name of Christ! We were introduced as their Californian friends and were welcomed with warm smiles and hugs. It was cool to meet both sides of the family, both Tim and Leah’s parents attend the church. After their main service they had a 50th birthday celebration for their pastor. I was thankful to be a part of the celebration as the congregation, a family, honored a man who meant so much to them. They all thanked the Lord for such a God fearing man as their head pastor. Hearing story after story was both fun and encouraging. God is working throughout the country. Not just in my home town and church, but on the opposite side of the country in people’s lives and hearts.

This weekend was exactly what we needed. We are so thankful for their hospitality and even letting us bring our stuck up french kitten. She pretty much hid in their (Tim and Leah’s) room the whole time, and made her way into Tim’s closet (thanks for being a good sport). We had such a good time and it was so good to spend time with you two, honestly it was like seeing family again. Thank you.

These last two pictures just because they are adorable:

Everyone was so cold in this picture…ImageImage(All three of them had ear infections, this time was called “ears” when they had their ear drops.)

  1. Steph I think this is the first time I have looked at your blog and it is a great entry. I’m so grateful to God that you were able to spend time with the Costine’s. Keep us up dated on all your adventures.
